Initial survey and design
- Survey Stage case study. For a high-profile multi underfloor heating contract in Camden, London covering 600 apartments across two separate blocks, our survey stage established the technical and logistical foundations for a successful delivery. Beginning with architects’ floor plans, we performed detailed heat-loss calculations for every apartment typology and translated those results into bespoke underfloor heating layouts that accounted for varied floor finishes, room usage, and occupant comfort criteria. Those initial designs were validated and refined through thorough site surveys, laser-checked measurements, and a series of collaborative meetings with the main contractor, M&E consultants and architects to resolve interface issues, tolerance constraints and service-routing challenges. We developed phased material supply plans and installation sequences to match the contractor’s program, specified controls and manifolds for performance and maintenance access, and produced installation drawings and handover documentation. To ensure quality on site, we delivered tailored training sessions for labourers on best-practice installation and wet-system protection, and coordinated pre-commissioning checks so that commissioning could be completed efficiently post-installation, minimizing snagging and ensuring systems met design performance.

Underfloor heating solution
- For the underfloor heating, we designed and supplied a screed-and-staple system using 16 mm PERT-a-PERT pipe, spaced at 175 mm centres due to the building’s excellent heat-loss performance. The system is controlled by Heatmiser neoStats and dedicated wiring centres. We coordinated delivery schedules with the main contractor and securely stored all equipment at our headquarters, provided on-site training and commissioning, and supplied each apartment with a tailored handover pack for the main contractor. All commissioning and installation documentation was uploaded to a bespoke CRM we developed for the contractor, giving them 24/7 access to records.

End Result
- The Camden Apartment scheme concluded with a highly successful outcome: all 600 wet underfloor heating systems are performing reliably and delivering consistent comfort across the development. Our aftercare monitoring and client feedback show stable flow temperatures, well-balanced zones and low service call rates, confirming the effectiveness of the bespoke designs, staged commissioning and quality-controlled installation. Tenants report even warmth and intuitive controls, while the developer’s facilities team praise the traceability and documentation we provided for each apartment. As a result of these positive performance metrics and smooth post‑handover support, GT Underfloor Heating has been engaged on follow-up phases and additional projects with the same national developer, providing design, supply and commission services across Cardiff and South Wales. Continued collaboration includes targeted optimisation visits, warranty management and data-led adjustments where needed to maintain efficiency and occupant comfort. The project demonstrates our ability to deliver large-scale programmes that not only meet installation deadlines but also achieve measurable operational success in service, supporting long-term relationships with major developers and ensuring residents benefit from dependable, energy-efficient underfloor heating.
